Reception

Our Early Years Reception classroom is a warm and welcoming learning space which promotes curiosity and an excitement to explore and learn. We aim to get to know each child’s unique personality and plan learning challenges that match their age and stage of development. Our curriculum involves activities and experiences from the Early Years Framework.

Communication and language is something we feel is paramount in our Early Years and the love of books, stories, rhyme time and reading are at the heart of what we do every day. Children in Reception receive daily phonics and maths sessions with opportunities to apply their skills in small groups over the course of the week.

In Reception we promote positive self-talk and resilience. We encourage our children to talk about their feelings, identify the feelings of others and resolve problems together. We work hard to ensure the children are happy and guide the children through any difficulties they may face.
