School Curriculum
Vision: Where futures are created
Intent: Understanding key issues of our generation through a knowledge rich BSL curriculum and current and future stewardship
Values: Trust, Widsom, Forgiveness and Service
At Bulford St. Leonard’s CE Primary School, we will provide a knowledge rich, engaging and empowering curriculum. We believe that learning should be exciting and meaningful. We want to both inspire and equip children with knowledge and skills, so that they are able to thrive in the modern world and are able to respond to the key issues for their generation.
Our curriculum engages pupils with a broad balance of knowledge and skills. Through a research-based approach to its delivery, we make links between subjects and the application of knowledge. Children will develop from ‘novice to expert’ as they journey through school. First-hand experience will help secure a thirst for learning.
In recognition of the specific context of our school, an essential part of our curriculum intent is to help all our pupils to recognise and embrace change and to develop resilience.
As a faith school, our curriculum is underpinned by the explicit teaching of values. This Christian distinctiveness adds to our focus on an enquiry based, questioning approach to learning. Children, whatever their faith, will understand that they can make a significant difference to each other, have an impact for groups of people, communities and the world as a whole.
